Global Lead, Industries

Manufacturing and Energy

Douglas has worked mainly in high tech companies throughout his career. While finishing his MBA in International Business and Finance he worked on a project to implement an ERP system for a metals manufacturing company. Immediately following this project he was able to work as the business lead for an SAP installation while also maintaining and designing the ‘new internet’ access and designing the corresponding Internet Website and infrastructure

Douglas joined Brio Software in 1997 as a trainer for customers and business partners. He was quickly made the business manager for all channel partners worldwide, which included building business relationships as well as training the partners in the products. He followed this up with a move to Asia in 2000 to set up and run the South Asia region.

When Brio was purchased in 2003, Douglas decided to stay in Asia and set up the Asia Pacific operation for Cyberguard, an internet security and content filtering company. He grew this business 100% in the one year he was working with them, before they were ultimately purchased.

Douglas then started a small consulting company to help US and European based companies enter the Asia Pacific Marketplace. This included 2 US based companies and 1 European company that entered the Market and was able to reap great success.

Douglas joined Tyco Fire & Security Services Asia in January of 2003 to head up the RFID division for the Asia region. He grew this new and exciting business in 18 months to include 25 different projects and over $2million in revenue. At the same time he was able to help build many key accounts in the region.

Following this Douglas joined Cisco Systems to lead their industrial solutions and product lines for Asia Pacific. This includes working with customers and relevant partners to bring business solutions to the customer base within the Manufacturing and Energy space. Doug moved back to the USA to bring this vision and capability to a role from a global aspect. He has been with Cisco for over 6 years.

Educational background: Douglas has an MBA from Roosevelt University in Chicago. His MBA is in International Business and Finance. His undergraduate studies are in Economics and Management from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
